Now in its second season, Netflix and Lionsgate’s acclaimed Dear White People doesn’t shy away from complicated topics, and television is all the better for it. Brought to life by a gifted ensemble of actors, creator and executive producer Justin Simien’s vivid and thoroughly engrossing series about a group of black students at a fictional Ivy League college tackles issues that are at once timely and timeless. Season two effectively mines this territory and its historical significance, wraps it in sly humor, and delivers stunning, thought-provoking TV, which IndieWire called, “a burning cultural statement wrapped in beguiling secrets.” We are delighted to welcome Simien and members of the cast to the Paley Center for a special screening and conversation.
