Long before the internet, smartphones, and personal computers, nothing captured our collective imagination and wonder like classic television series. Beloved shows like I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, and Happy Days were touchstones for several generations of Americans. From Lucy Ricardo to Ralph Kramden to Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli, these characters helped shape our childhoods—and our lives.

Now The Paley Museum invites you to experience your favorite TV shows of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s like never before, getting closer to these characters than has ever been possible.

This exclusive exhibit features rare treasures from the collection of the late Dr. Stewart Berkowitz, who turned his love for the TV shows from his youth into a passion for collecting. Dr. Berkowitz spent decades combing the country and lovingly assembling the costumes, props, and artifacts from his most-adored programs, including The Honeymooners (his favorite show of all time), The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, The Love Boat, The Flying Nun, and Happy Days. As Dr. Berkowitz collected these rare and essential costumes of TV history, he helped bring them to life by commissioning stunning life-like mannequins from designer Greg Maraio.

The Paley Museum is honored to help Dr. Berkowitz’s family realize his lifelong dream of showcasing these incredible artifacts in a museum so he could share these cherished pieces of pop culture history with his fellow TV fans, and in doing so, help keep the nostalgia alive for future generations.

Come experience the magic of these life-size figures, and put yourself in the picture with some of your favorite TV characters of all time!
