CANNES (MIPTV), FRANCE, APRIL 7, 2014 —Passion Distribution is pleased to announce it is working with U.S. based The Paley Center for Media. The Paley Center is producing an all-new, original six-episode series highlighting some of the greatest sessions of PaleyFest, the Ultimate TV Fan Festival. Access Paley Center (6 x 60’) features the stars and creative minds behind some of the biggest hits on television, using PaleyFest as a base for the new series. Passion Distribution is debuting the series in Cannes.
Access Paley Center takes viewers on stage with the talent both in front of and behind the camera for a series of candid, dynamic conversations – all recorded live in Hollywood before a fan-packed audience. The stand-alone episodes delve into details about what it takes to make great television—the inner dynamics, on-set antics, camaraderie, struggles, and behind-the-scenes stories at the heart of those memorable episodes.
The inaugural season features shows including The Big Bang Theory, Mad Men, and The Walking Dead, as well as many more international hit series.
Passion Distribution already distributes a number of celebrity-filled, behind-the-scenes shows including The Writers’ Room (Season 1-2: 12 x 30’) and Iconoclasts (Season 2-6: 24 x 60’ & 6 x 30’), both produced for Sundance TV. The Writers’ Room has been a huge international success for Passion, with the show scheduled to air in over 115 countries.
“The ‘Access Paley Center’ series captures all the energy, fun, and uncensored nature of the PaleyFest events and offers fans around the world an up-close and personal look at the inner-workings of their favorite TV shows,” said Maureen Reidy, Chief Marketing Officer for the Paley Center.
Maria Ishak, Passion’s VP Sales & Acquisitions North America, added “We’re excited to be partnering with one of the most respected brands in media, the Paley Center has unparalleled access to the biggest names in TV. Following on from the success of our other all-access celebrity type shows such as Iconoclasts and The Writers' Room, we know that this one will resonate well throughout the global TV market.”
