September 25 to October 23, 2005
In conjunction with the release of Good Night, and Good Luck, George Clooney's theatrical film about the confrontations between iconic CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow and the Communist-baiting junior senator from Wisconsin, Joseph R. McCarthy, the museum presents the original television programs that inspired the film, captivated the nation during the jittery "duck-and-cover" days of the fifties, and helped legitimize television as a medium and even an essential source of information in American homes. As a bonus, the Museum also presents a look at Murrow's lighter side, with highlights of his Person to Person interviews with Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, and the Bogarts.
- Family Halloween Screenings

Celebrate Halloween at The Museum of Television & Radio by watching such family favorites as It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and a sampling of classic horror programs from the Museum's collection every day during the Halloween season.
RE-CREATING RADIO WORKSHOPS
Re-creating Radio is a two-hour workshop where children ages nine and older produce an old-time radio drama using scripts, sound effects, and music. The workshop takes participants through the many stages of radio production, including casting, microphone and sound effects training, and a cue rehearsal, before putting on a "live" broadcast. The series brings to life stories in the tradition of Superman, The Shadow, and The Lone Ranger. The performance is recorded, and each participant receives and audiocassette following the workshop. Funding has been provided by The Ahmanson Foundation. Reservations are required at $5 per participant. Workshops held on Saturdays starting after Labor Day.
