Jennifer Grant, Dyan Cannon, and Jeff Pope, and Series’ Star Jason Isaacs
New York, NY, November 15, 2023 – The Paley Center for Media announced today the latest selection to its acclaimed PaleyLive NY series, Hollywood Legend Cary Grant: The American Premiere of BritBox’s Archie. This special look at the highly anticipated ITV and BritBox International four-part limited series about Cary Grant will take place on Monday, December 4, at 6:30 pm, at The Paley Museum located at 25 West 52 Street.
Legendary actor Cary Grant embodied the sophistication of Hollywood, but at the same time he battled the demons of a troubled childhood. Archie delves into the complexity of Grant’s life as he comes to terms with the deprivations he suffered as Archibald Leach born in Bristol, England, while he became one of Hollywood’s most famous stars and greatest leading men.
The Paley Center will screen a special episode of the series, followed by a conversation with Grant’s daughter and only child, Jennifer Grant (Executive Producer), ex-wife Dyan Cannon (Executive Producer), Jeff Pope (Writer and Executive Producer), and series’ star Jason Isaacs, who plays Grant.
“Cary Grant epitomized the classic Hollywood leading man and left his indelible mark on the silver screen,” said Maureen J. Reidy, the Paley Center’s President & CEO. “We’re thrilled to host the American premiere of this exciting new series and look forward to hosting what promises to be a compelling conversation with some of the most important people in his remarkable life including his daughter, Jennifer Grant, and former wife, Dyan Cannon.”
“BritBox is honored to partner with The Paley Center to premiere Archie in the U.S.,” said BritBox International CEO, Reemah Sakaan. “As Britain’s most famous Hollywood export, Cary Grant’s created an impact on film and media that remains unparalleled. The Paley Center so thoughtfully explores media’s influence on society; we couldn’t think of a more fitting home to share the unexpected life story of this beloved icon who was born in the UK.”
