REGISTRATION QUESTIONS

    • How do I attend?
      • The Paley International Council Summit, often referred to as the “Davos of Media,” brings together global leaders and CEOs of the world’s most important media companies, to advance the exchange of ideas and to foster a sense of community. An invitation to attend the annual summit is one of the many benefits of Paley Media Council membership. Apply here.

 

    • How do I login to my account on the site?
      • All attendees received a registration confirmation email with an "Access Summit" button. This button automatically logs you into your event account. If you need further help logging into your account or can't locate your registration confirmation, call (212) 621-6895.

 

    • How do I join a session?
      • On the "Watch Live" page, select the session at the top and click the "Join Broadcast" button under the session title. The broadcast will become available two minutes before the scheduled session start time.
      • If you are prompted to login when you click the "Join Broadcast" button, please refer back to your registration confirmation email and login by clicking the "Access Summit" button.
      • If you need your registration confirmation email to be resent, please e-mail FFrederick@paleycenter.org.

 

    • What is the Networking Community?
      • The networking community is a great place for all participants to learn more about each other and connect.  You will be able to create a short profile, or use your LinkedIn profile, and send messages to other participants. Only registered participants can join, and you can leave the community at any time.

 

    • How can I find out about agenda updates?
      • Download the Paley IC 2020 app through the Paley Center's International Council Summit website or through the Apple App or Google Play stores. You can view the Summit's agenda, speaker bios, and so much more. Be sure to allow for push notifications for updates during the conference.
      • You can also view the agenda on the Overview section of the toolbar at the top of the screen.

 

    • How can I follow along on social media?
      • Follow along on social media and share your own International Council commentary with #PaleyIC

 

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

    • Is there a recommended internet browser?
      • We recommend that you use Chrome for viewing sessions. We also recommend you disable all pop-up blockers and ad blockers as they might interfere with the session broadcasting. Here are a few more specifics:
        • For Windows users, your device needs to run Windows 7 and above, running Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Internet Explorer is not supported.
        • For Mac users, your device needs to run MacOS 10.9 or later, running Chrome and Firefox. Safari not supported
        • For iPhone users you must be using an iPhone 5S or later, running iOS 11 and up
        • For Android users you must be using an Android 4.0 or later, running Chrome

 

    • The sound is coming out of a different device than I want. What can I do?
      • To toggle between multiple outputs connected to your device (e.g., internal speakers, headphones, and AirPlay), click the gear icon ⚙️ on the top right of the live-streamed session. You will then be able to select which output and input devices you want to use.

 

    • The output device I want to use isn't showing up. How can I fix this?
      • First, check your device's physical connection by either unplugging and reconnecting your physical headphones or toggling Bluetooth on and off. If you are confident that the output device is connected correctly, check your system preferences to ensure your computer recognizes the device. On a Windows device, click the loudspeaker icon on the bottom right of your screen, and you'll be able to change the output device. On a Mac, visit System Preferences > Sound to choose your output devices.

 

    • My devices are correctly connected, but I can't hear anything!
      • If you're confident everything is connected correctly, your devices might be used by another tool or application. Be sure tools like Zoom, Google Hangouts, Go To Meeting, etc. have been closed before starting the session.

 

NETWORKING QUESTIONS

    • How will I be able to network?
      • Networking and Roundtable: Attend networking and roundtable sessions provided daily.
      • Message Chat: Send a message to other community members directly.
      • Q&A: Engage with speakers at the end of their presentation for live Q&A.
        • Once you join the live broadcast, you will be able to type your questions in the chat box located to the right of the video. Your questions will only appear to you and not to any other attendees. We will attempt to answer all of the submitted questions.
