2:00 PM ET
With Q&As and Receptions with the Cast!
For audiences that enjoy plays that are filled with irony and writing that mixes comedy with drama, the following one-acts fit the bill and make for a fabulous afternoon of theater.
Lady With A Lamp by Dorothy Parker. In this very Parker piece one "friend" is supposedly consoling another friend named Mona, who is heartsick. Though Mona seems to wind up feeling much worse after listening to her friend's advice. Parker, as usual, is able to combine comedy with heartache.
Schoolyard Confidential by Mark O'Donnell. A young boy supposedly tries to help another young boy in a schoolyard. The subtitle of this piece is "Orientation." But after hearing the "wiser" boy's thoughts and advice about how to survive in school, one could only feel completely disoriented!
Did You Know My Husband? by Susan Charlotte. A woman named Maria talks to another woman named Marlene about her husband in detail. She wonders if Marlene knew her husband. Marlene's answer takes the play in a completely different direction.
