Known for his roles in the Deadpool franchise, The Proposal, and other blockbuster films, Reynolds has also become a powerhouse in the world of business, including buying the Welsh soccer team Wrexham AFC (and executive producing the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham) and founding the production company and marketing agency Maximum Effort, which has created transformative ad campaigns that have helped to supercharge brands like Aviation Gin and Mint Mobile. In this fireside chat, he’ll discuss his strategic approach to building brands, his vision for the future of media, and how he’s navigating the evolving intersection of entertainment, technology, and direct-to-consumer models.

Ryan Reynolds
Actor; Co-Founder, Maximum Effort
Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian entrepreneur, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Most recently, Reynolds wrote, produced, and starred in Deadpool & Wolverine, which is now the highest grossing R-rated film of all time, grossing $1.3 billion, and the fifth biggest comic book film in history. He’s been nominated for a Golden Globe and two Grammy Awards for his work on the Deadpool film franchise, and has been recognized as one of the most creative people in business by both Fast Company and AdWeek, as well as one of the Wall Street Journal’s “Innovators” in 2021. Fast Company has just named him to its 2024 list of the top 10 most innovative people in business. He’s won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on Welcome to Wrexham. He is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia, and in 2021 received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for his contribution to the arts in Canada. Reynolds was also honored with the 2023 Humanitarian Award by the Canadian Screen Awards. He is an award-winning marketer, creating breakthrough campaigns for Deadpool, Aviation Gin, Mint Mobile, and the Match Group. Reynolds is also co-owner of Wrexham Football Club and a co-founder of Maximum Effort, a production company and marketing firm. He lives in New York with his wife Blake Lively and their four children.
