In addition to The Paley Museum’s The Road to the Big Game: New Orleans exhibit, paying tribute to Super Bowl LIX, we are also showcasing the Black athletes whose spectacular talent and leadership skills helped propel their team to Super Bowl glory and inspired young people of all backgrounds to pursue their dreams in sports and beyond.
Celebrating the Black Heroes of Football’s Biggest Game salutes the Super Bowl’s most historic Black achievements, including the twenty Black players named Super Bowl MVPs and several other pioneering Big Game athletes, coaches, and performers, documenting how their Super success has broken down barriers and demonstrated excellence at the highest level.
Created in partnership with the National Football League (NFL) and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the exhibit also features remarkable artifacts and thrilling video footage that put these remarkable achievements in greater perspective.
On Display
SUPER BOWL ARTIFACTS: See artifacts from past Super Bowl games, including game-used footballs, jerseys, and player draft cards.
VIDEO BIOGRAPHIES: Watch insightful profiles of four legendary Super Bowl MVPs featured in the exhibit—Franco Harris (Pittsburgh Steelers), Doug Williams (Washington Redskins), Emmitt Smith (Dallas Cowboys), and Ray Lewis (Baltimore Ravens)—donated to the exhibit by NFL Films.
FAMILY FUN and TRIVIA: 🎨 Families will be able to join the celebration with Super Bowl–themed arts and crafts for children, as well as an interactive trivia quiz.
