A Superheroine Like No Other: Paley Celebrates 50 Years of Wonder Woman on Television

Friday, March 14, 2025
4:00 pm
The Paley Museum, 25 West 52 Street, NYC

Happy Women‘s History Month! Fifty years ago on November 7, 1975, Wonder Woman burst onto television screens donning her indestructible bracelets and Lasso of Truth. A founding member of the Justice League, Wonder Woman, played by Lynda Carter in the original television series, has become a symbol of strength, courage, and feminism, rejecting the formerly traditional “damsel in distress” trope. Join Paley curator Allison Kraft for a conversation about the history and lasting impact of one of television‘s greatest heroines featuring clips from the Paley Archive.
