Scandal’s election, opening season six, is one of the most eagerly awaited events on television as viewers discuss whether mastermind Shonda Rhimes can reach the level of real life political melodrama. This PaleyFest evening will consider how this steamy series maintains its narrative twists and passions over one hundred episodes. But Scandal continues to matter as Emily Nussbaum of the New Yorker points out: “the show can perform rough, wild meditations on the meaning of power, interrogating, among other subjects, race, gender, and sexuality, both overtly and implicitly.”
