As part of Carnegie Hall's citywide festival Vienna: City of Dreams, the Paley Center is screening historic television broadcasts featuring the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera, plus a 1962 NBC News program on the political and cultural history of the city.

Charles Kuralt hosts this performance at the Schönbrunn Palace on the eve of the summit talks between President John F. Kennedy and Soviet Premier Nikita Khruschchev (who are seen attending the concert with their wives). The Vienna Philharmonic and soloists Hilde Gueden and Waldemar Kmentt perform selections from The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, Die Fledermaus, and The Gypsy Baron. (CBS; 50 min.)
