Agatha Christie’s Poirot Series Finale with David Suchet
4:30 PM PT
Acorn TV, a premiere British TV streaming service, invites Paley Center Members to an exclusive, free premiere screening and conversation featuring the final mystery in the twenty-five-year run of Agatha Christie’s Poirot.
Since the series’s debut on television in 1989, Agatha Christie’s famous Belgian detective has put his brilliant intellect and fastidious nature to the test as he solves the most mystifying crimes of the Art Deco era. Poirot brims with opulent 1930s period details and pitch-perfect performances, especially that of David Suchet, who has portrayed the central character over the course of twenty-five years in all seventy Poirot stories written by Agatha Christie. Suchet has made an indelible mark on television with his portrayal of Poirot, and the final episodes feature a fitting goodbye to a beloved series.
The final season (series thirteen) features five TV movies, beginning with The Big Four and Dead Man’s Folly, which premiere in the U.S. on PBS on July 27 and August 3, respectively, and then become available on Acorn TV the day after their public-television broadcasts. However, Acorn TV will be the only place to watch the final three feature-length mysteries, on August 11 (Elephants Can Remember), August 18 (Labours of Hercules), and August 25 (Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case).
