An Evening with Happy Endings

Since its premiere on ABC in April, this comedy about a group of six pals in Chicago has been on a roll. When Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) leaves Dave (Zachary Knighton) at the altar during their wedding ceremony, the rest of their close-knit group (two of whom are married—to each other—while the other two are single and looking in all the wrong places for Mr. Right) remain steadfastly by their sides, plying them with misguided advice, warm beer, and bad blind dates. The writing is laugh-out-loud funny—we dare you to name another sitcom where a coming-out subplot and a Hitler subplot (which gives whole new meaning to the phrase “What’s in a name?”) have collided so hilariously.
