PAVAROTTI AT JUILLIARD: OPERA MASTER CLASSES, PROGRAM I (TV)

Summary

The first in a series of six half-hour master classes given in January, 1979, at the Juilliard School in New York City. After a short introductory statement, tenor Luciano Pavarotti gives brief instruction to three Juilliard singers. Kwang Chung (tenor) sings "E lucevan le stelle" from Giacomo Puccini's opera "Tosca"; Susanne Mentzer (soprano) sings "Non so piu" from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera "Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro)"; and Tonio Di Paolo (tenor) sings "Questa, o quella" from Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Rigoletto." Pavarotti conducts a question and answer session with the audience. In response to a request from an audience member, Pavarotti sings "Per la gloria d'adorarvi" from Antonio Bononcini's opera "Griselda."
