
DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, THE: I AM MY BROTHER'S KEEPER {PART 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy programs about the personal and professional life of Rob Petrie, the head comedy writer for television's "Alan Brady Show." In part one of this two-part episode, Rob's introverted brother, Stacey comes to visit. When he arrives and appears to be an extrovert, Laura is confused, and Rob reveals that Stacey is a sleepwalker; he is painfully shy when awake, but the life of the party when sleepwalking. Stacey is about to be discharged from the Army and wants to pursue a career as a comedian, but he can barely tell a joke when he's awake. Rob throws a party in his brother's honor and though Stacey sleepwalks through the whole evening, he's a hit with the guests. Rob insists that Stacey schedule an audition for "The Alan Brady Show" and vows to help his brother to be as funny awake as he is asleep. Includes commercials and promos.
