Summary
Pilot episode of a projected World War II series created and written by Gene Roddenberry. Set in the South Pacific in 1943, this program concerns the adventures of three buddies from different branches of the U.S. armed forces: Air Force Capt. Phillip Pike, Navy Lt. Edward C. Jellicoe, and Army Lt. James T. Irvine. Irvine doubts his ability to kill again following his experience in a traumatic battle. When Col. Crowe orders Irvine to go on an important commando mission, Irvine goes AWOL. Pike and Jellicoe find Irvine in a mountaintop village inhabited by Chinese people who have evaded the war. Irvine's sense of purpose is restored when he, Jellicoe, and Pike must help the villagers defend themselves against a band of Japanese soldiers. No commercials.
