Summary
Part one of two. This special features comedian Andy Kaufman performing at Carnegie Hall. In this part, Kaufman, as lounge entertainer Tony Clifton, sings the national anthem and performs a nightclub act. The Love Family sings "Aquarius." Kaufman performs a comic rendition of "Oklahoma!"; does a routine about crazy people walking around New York City and brings a streetperson onstage; introduces a film short featuring singing cowboys and dancing girls and brings one of the cowgirls onstage; sings a "harvest song indigenous to the Caspian Sea"; offers women in the audience $1,000 to wrestle with him; and portrays the character Latka Gravas, popularized in the TV series "Taxi."
