GAMES OF THE XXIII OLYMPIAD, THE {1984 LOS ANGELES OLYMPICS} {1984/08/02}, PART 6: MODERN PENTATHLON (MEN) (TV)

Summary

Sullivan interviews actor Michael Douglas about his movie "Running" and his experience with attending Olympic events in Los Angeles.

Sports commentator Judd Rose covers a segment on the lack of a city song for Los Angeles with renditions by Fred Travalena, Dale Gonyea, Julius Johnson, Paul Cobabe, and Frank Sinatra.

Gifford interviews Bill, Evelyn, and Carol Lewis about their Olympic family and the participation of Carl and Carol in the track and field events.

Flemming and Heiden cover the second heat of the men's cycling 1000-meter sprint semifinals between Mark Gorski (USA) and Tsutomu Sakamoto (Japan). Gorski wins and advances to the finals with the chance for a gold medal.

Sports commentator Howard Cosell covers a segment on the blurry line of professional and amateur athletes participating in the Olympic Games.
