ROUTE 66: BIRDCAGE ON MY FOOT (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas about the adventures of two young men who travel across the country in a Corvette. In this episode, Tod and Buz volunteer to help Arnie, a drug addict whom they catch trying to break into their Corvette. At first, Buz is reluctant to get involved, while Tod is bent on pressing charges. However, when Tod gets a first-hand look at the devastating nature of Arnie's addiction, he realizes that jail is not where the man needs to be. Against Buz's advice, Tod and his friend Charlotte take it upon themselves to help Arnie kick his habit. Their efforts prove unsuccessful, however, and they are about to give up when Buz unexpectedly takes charge of the situation, displaying an uncanny knowledge of the addictive personality. Tod wonders how Buz knows so much about this problem, but Buz will reveal his secret only to Arnie. Commercials deleted.
