DYNASTY: THE VERDICT (TV)

Summary

One in this nighttime serial about the wealthy Carrington family of Denver, Colorado. In this episode, Alexis is on trial for the murder of her bodyguard, Mark Jennings, and her son Stephen is called by the prosecution as a surprise witness. Urged by the district attorney, Stephen describes how he saw his mother push Jennings over the balcony of her penthouse. In a hysterical display, Alexis begs the court to dismiss her son's account. That night, Blake visits Alexis in jail and implores her to forgive Stephen for testifying, but she vows to seek revenge on the entire family. Krystle is called to the witness stand, where she details a conversation she held with Jennings just hours before his death. Adam, who is serving as his mother's defense counsel, is fired for discouraging Alexis from submitting herself to a cross-examination. Representing herself, Alexis gets carried away during her emotional testimony and inadvertently admits that she had a strong motive for killing Jennings. Having seemingly convicted herself, Alexis struggles to deliver her conclusive remarks to the jury. In other developments, Krystle fends off the unwanted advances of one of Blake's business partners, and Dominique schemes to wrestle control of Denver-Carrington away from Blake. The program concludes with an ABC News Brief featuring Ted Koppel. Includes commercials. This program is closed-captioned.
