SAGA OF WESTERN MAN: THE PILGRIM ADVENTURE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of irregularly scheduled documentaries. In this program, re-creations of historic events and footage of historic locations combine with a narrative comprised of the words of those who lived during the period to present a chronicle of the events leading up to and including the settling of the Plymouth Colony in 1620. Program highlights include a look at the lack of religious freedom under England's King James I, and the Pilgrims' flight to Holland, trans-Atlantic voyage, and interaction with the Indians. Commercials deleted. (Black-and-white copy of a color broadcast.)
Preservation of the Post–World War II American Television Documentary Collection is supported in part by a Federal Save America’s Treasures grant administered by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
