
VIRGINIAN, THE: THE BRAZEN BELL (TV)
Summary
One in this series of western dramas set in 1890s Wyoming on the Shiloh Ranch, which is owned by Judge Henry Garth and managed by the laconic foreman known as "the Virginian." In this episode, two escaped convicts take the newly-arrived teacher and his students hostage demand that the townspeople supply them for a journey to Canada. The schoolteacher's wife attempts to escape but is shot down by her captors. During the burial, the schoolteacher creates a distraction to cover a rescue attempt. Includes commercials. (Series title varies: as above, 1962-1970; as "The Men from Shiloh," 1970-1971.)
