PATRICIA NEAL STORY, THE (TV)
Summary
This docudrama depicts actress Patricia Neal's struggle to recover from a series of near-fatal strokes that she suffered in 1966. In this story, Neal is paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak. Despite the doctor's skepticism, her husband, writer Roald Dahl, dedicates himself to her complete recovery. Neal progresses in her therapy, gives birth, appears at a benefit where she is introduced by Rock Hudson, and returns to films. The program closes with a film of the real Patricia Neal. Commercials deleted.
This is a black-and-white dub of a color broadcast.
(This production marks Glenda Jackson's American television debut as well as Dirk Bogarde's debut in a made-for-television film.)
