Summary

One in this series of comedy/variety programs hosted by Steve Allen. Highlights include the following: Connie Russell sings "Caravan" and "You've Changed; the regular cast members perform "Probe," a sketch about American millionaires; David Allen sings "Get Out of Town"; Lenny Bruce does a standup routine on Hollywood, racism, and loneliness; the Three Stooges perform; and Allen and Louis Nye play songwriters who enlist cast members to sing their compositions. Includes commercials.

Lenny Bruce's routine was partially recreated by actor Luke Kirby in the season two finale of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" entitled "All Alone," which premiered on Amazon on December 5, 2018 (see ACCNUM 137528).

("The Steve Allen Show" was telecast on NBC from 1956-1959. Retitled "The Steve Allen Plymouth Show," it ran on NBC from 1959-1960.)
