Bob pleads with his mother to stop nagging him and promises to bring Lisa over for Thanksgiving. Elsewhere, Bob has lunch with his friend and mentor Dr. Stewart in an upscale restaurant, where he is surprised to learn that his sister Penny has been influencing the career of a colleague, Neil Wade. Dr. Stewart encourages Bob to reconcile with Lisa, but Bob insists that he just wants to spare Tom any distress. Later, Lisa makes a collect call to her mother, Alma, and asks for some money to help finance her own apartment. Alma stalls the loan, suggesting that Lisa first try to make amends with Bob.
