ALL IN THE FAMILY: THE DRAFT DODGER (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a working-class household presided over by the opinionated Archie Bunker. This episode takes place on Christmas Eve. Edith is busy preparing dinner when David Brewster, a high-school friend of Mike, stops by unexpectedly. Edith invites David to stay to dinner. Archie's friend Pinky Peterson is also expected to join the Bunkers at dinner; before his arrival, Archie warns everyone to avoid talking about Pinky's son, who was killed in Vietnam. At dinner, the conversation turns to the topic of David's residence in Canada, and Archie is appalled to learn that his son-in-law's friend has moved north to avoid the draft. David receives defense from an unexpected source, however. Commercials deleted.
