Summary
This made-for-television movie functioned as a pilot for "Columbo," the police drama series in which an insinuating police lieutenant's suppliant manner masks his keen intelligence sharp investigative abilities. In this drama, psychiatrist Ray Flemming murders his wife after she threatens him with divorce and scandal. Flemming's lover, actress Joan Hudson, pretends she is Mrs. Flemming. Columbo is put on the case. It seems Columbo has met his match -- until he uses an actress to catch a killer. Commercials deleted.
