
GOODYEAR TELEVISION PLAYHOUSE: WISH ON THE MOON (TV)
Summary
One in this series of live dramas presented by Goodyear. This drama by Sumner Locke Elliott concerns two young women, Frances Barclay and Olivia Beech, who meet on a train on their way to New York where they hope to fulfill their dreams. The ambitious Frances is an aspiring actress while the wealthy and lazy Olivia just wants to get married and have a large family. While Frances pounds the pavement trying to get an audition, Olivia encounters her old Dayton classmate Gil Wayne, who is interning at Bellevue as a pediatrician. When Frances goes for an interview at a modeling agency, Olivia is the one who lands up getting the assignment as the "Moon Kist Girl" and Frances must make ends meet typing manuscripts. Though Olivia is in love with Gil, Gil falls for the career-minded Frances. Frances finally gets her break starring in a dramatic role in summer stock and Olivia stays in New York spending time with Gil over the summer. But their positions become reversed when Olivia is asked to audition for a Hollywood screen test and Frances gives up her dreams of a stage career and marries Gil. In the end, Olivia becomes a temeramental film star, and Frances finally learns how lucky she is. Includes commercials for Goodyear.
