Summary
The seventh and last episode of this special series tracing the history of one black family through the generations. In this episode, beginning in October 1960, Alex Haley's interviews Malcolm X and American Nazi George Lincoln Rockwell for Playboy magazine. But Malcolm X is assassinated and Haley begins researching the Haley family history. In 1967, in West Africa, a griot recites for Haley a five-hundred-year tribal saga, which includes the story of Kunta Kinte, Haley's ancestor. As the program concludes, author Alex Haley speaks on the importance of the family. Includes commercials.
