Summary

The sixth and final episode of this historical drama based on the life of Elizabeth I of England. In this episode, the aging Elizabeth faces troubles as Essex fights with Raleigh and leads popular but expensive military expeditions. The Queen sends Essex as Lord Deputy to Ireland, where there is dissent and rebellion. Essex, Lord Deputy in Ireland, tries to take over London and for his disobedience, the Queen has him beheaded. The Councilmen prepare James, in Scotland, for succession to the English throne. Closes with the death of Elizabeth I.
