WASHINGTON: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS {EPISODE 1} (TV)

Summary

The premiere episode of this special political drama following the political ambitions, intrigue and corruption of one presidential administration based loosely on "The Company," a novel by convicted Watergate criminal John Ehrlichman. In this hour, President Esker Anderson announces his decision not to seek another term and reveals his recently-diagnosed leukemia. Presidential hopeful Richard Monckton organizes his presidential campaign. The director of the CIA, Bill Martin, engages a beautiful young woman to spy for him, and separates from his wife. An ambitious, new recruit to the Monckton campaign rifles through closed files, following orders from within the organization. On election night President-elect Monckton delivers his acceptance speech. Includes commercials.
