GREY'S ANATOMY: WALK ON WATER (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic medical series about the lives and loves of a group of surgeons at a Seattle hospital. In this episode, Meredith talks about how life is full of vanishing acts before submerging herself in bathtub water and making Derek wonder if she was trying to commit suicide. Cristina worries about how to tell her friends about her engagement to Preston. Following his separation from Adele, Richard dyes his gray hair, amusing the rest of the hospital staff and causing Addison to stick up for him. Callie worries about being George's boss at work, especially when he begins goofing off. Meanwhile, Meredith's mother prepares to undergo heart surgery. The interns take part in a triage test, something Alex finds to be a waste of time. The chief interrupts the trials after hearing of a mass casualty accident nearby, sending "all hands on deck" to the scene. Soon, George, Izzie, Alex, Meredith, and Miranda are at Elliot Bay, where a ferry boat has crashed into a container ship, causing much chaos. As Meredith attempts to save lives, a lost little girl becomes attached to her. Back at the hospital, Derek discusses Meredith with Preston, before Preston reveals that he is engaged. Also, Callie and perky resident Sydney continue to clash. Izzie is forced to deal with a man trapped underneath a car while Alex finds a nearly dead pregnant woman severely crushed under a cement pylon. George meets a woman, Carly, with serious stomach injuries who has lost her seven-year-old son in the confusion. Back at the hospital, news of Cristina and Preston's engagement begins spreading. Soon, the victims begin arriving at Seattle Grace. George's stomach injury victim refuses to go into surgery until her son Chris is located. While back at the accident sight, Izzie struggles to keep the pinned man alive. Meredith finds an injured man on the edge of the harbor and tries to tend to him as the lost girl stands watching. Alex is taken off the pregnant women's surgery much to his dismay while George struggles in trying to locate Chris. Later, a concerned Alex speaks with the pregnant woman, telling her that she "better" survive her operation. As the condition of Izzie's patient worsens, she is forced to try to save his life, though he remains pinned under the car. Finally, Meredith's victim begins freaking out and inadvertently pushes her into the water, with no one but the lost girl seeing her disappear beneath the bay's surface. Includes commercials.
