ACCORDING TO JIM: THE PUNCH {SIXTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

The sixth season premiere in this comedy series about Jim, a construction business owner in Chicago, and his ongoing battles with his wife, three kids and in-laws. In this episode Jim tries to make Andy slip on a banana peel, proving his point about the ruse's effectiveness to Dana. Later, Jim thinks that Cheryl is raising Kyle in an effeminate manner after the boy complains of a tummy ache and she says he can miss school. Eventually, however, Jim and Cheryl learn that Kyle has been getting bullied at school. Thus, Jim decides to "claim" Kyle and toughen him up, but Cheryl isn't so thrilled about the prospect of Jim teaching him how to fight. That day at school, Kyle immediately punches the bully, Mike Murphy. Kyle ends up suspended from school for a week and Jim has to hide that fact from Cheryl by keeping him at his office the whole time. There, Jim teaches Andy and Kyle about the rules of being a man. Then, Cheryl and Dana arrive at the office and Jim is forced to scramble to hide Kyle from them. Later that day, Jim and Andy take Kyle back to school where Jim tries to resolve things with Mike Murphy, to no avail. Jim quickly comes to think that Kyle bears some of the responsility for the pair's squabble. Later, Cheryl finally learns about Kyle's suspension when Mike Murphy confesses to everything, leading to yet another dustup between Jim and Cheryl. Includes commercials.
