ACCORDING TO JIM: THE FLANNELSEXUAL (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about Jim, a construction business owner in Chicago, and his ongoing battles with his wife, three kids and in-laws. In this episode, Jim struggles to enjoy a beer in front of the television, but gets fouled up by Andy's hijinks. Later, Cheryl wonders if Jim is excited to be bidding for a remodeling job at the local television station. Meanwhile, Cheryl frantically prepares for Dana's co-ed baby shower, something Jim has no interest in attending. Then, Jim and Andy arrive at the television studio for their meeting. There, Andy's buffoonery mistakenly leads to Jim getting on camera for an interview where he discusses men today and some of his decidedly non-metrosexual "theories." First and foremost, Jim espouses his macho belief that men need not attend baby showers. Three days later, Jim is still somewhat of a star due to his shocking television appearance, with the station even wanting him to do another spot as "the flannelsexual." Also, Jim's rants cause Dana's shower to go from co-ed to exclusively female, relieving Ryan but enraging Dana. In his second television spot, Jim answers calls from at-home viewers in which he offers his manly advice. Cheryl, going under the moniker of Meryl, is one of the callers and Jim gets in a spat with her on the air. Jim sprints home to further yell at Cheryl but she tells him how much she needs his support. Thus, Cheryl convinces Jim to attend the shower. Includes commercials.
