Summary

This special episode features highlights from the first two seasons in this dramatic medical series about the lives and loves of a group of surgeons at a Seattle hospital. Narrated by Joe the Emerald City bartender, this program begins as Joe talks about all the Seattle Grace interns, attendings, residents, and even the chief coming into the bar, giving him a bird's-eye view of their complicated love lives, most prominently the love triangle between Meredith, Derek, and Addison. The program also looks at: the relationships between Cristina and Preston and between Izzie and Alex; the unique relationship between Izzie and her "corpse"-like patient Denny Duquette; George's unrequited crush toward Meredith; Mark "McSteamy" Sloan, who turned Seattle Grace upside down with his flirtations; the time Meredith finally slept with George; George dislocating his shoulder and fortuitously meeting Callie; Mark pursuing Addison; Addison and Derek rekindling their marriage; the "great cocktail" of sex on the show; Meredith considering dating vet Finn Dandridge, a relationship that initially stayed very chaste; the relationship between Derek and Meredith finally coming to an unceremonious end; when people "cross the line" in love; Denny not getting his heart transplant, causing Izzie to freak out; Izzie "stealing" a heart for Denny; Preston getting shot, which affected Denny's transplant; Denny proposing to Izzie on his death bed; the "damages" that occur from love; Izzie eventually taking the wrap for stealing a heart; the impromptu prom for Richard's ailing niece; when Derek and Meredith finally got back together; Denny's heart transplant being rejected and his consequent death; and a distraught Izzie quitting her internship. The program ends with a video for the song "How to Save a Life" by The Fray. Includes commercials.
