BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: LAY DOWN YOUR BURDENS {SECOND SEASON FINALE, PART 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
One in this science fiction series which re-imagines the 1978 ABC show "Battlestar Galactica" about a lost tribe of humans on a fleet of starships, led by the Battlestar Galactica, during a war with the robotic Cylons. This is the first part of season two's two-part finale. It begins with the fact that only 49,579 human survivors remain. Starbuck leads a group of twenty Raptor fighter jets back toward the planet Caprica. They are hoping to locate Anders and his team of human survivors by utilizing Cylon "jump" technology which they learned from a Cylon captive. One of the twenty Raptors -- piloted by Racetrack -- mis-jumps, causing it to accidentally, but fortuitously, land inside a nebula which houses a hidden planet capable of supporting human life. Meanwhile, Baltar -- though way behind in the polls -- continues his campaign to defeat Roslin in the upcoming election, only two weeks away. He gets a lucky break when Racetrack returns with news of the hidden planet. Baltar incorporates the idea of permanent colonization on this planet into his presidential platform, which gives him a bump with voters. Also, Tyrol is suffering a bout of mental problems, believing that he may be a Cylon "sleeper agent." Part one ends as Starbuck and her team locate the few remaining survivors on Caprica, but then come under attack by a group of pursuing Cylons. Commercials deleted.
