BROOKLYN BRIDGE: BOYS AND GIRLS TOGETHER AGAIN (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic series about a middle-class Jewish family living in Brooklyn, New York, in the 1950s.

In this episode, completing a storyline from the previous two episodes, Alan and Katie search for the missing Benny. They also discuss all their missed connections at the previous evening's dance. Meanwhile, Jules tries to teach George how to negotiate at the rummage sale. At the same time, Sid and Sylvia go back to the diner to catch up on old times and drink champagne. Then, Alan and Katie interrupt the pair's chat to see if Sid or Sylvia knows of Benny's whereabouts.

By the end of the rummage sale, Harriet reveals that expectations have been exceeded. Jules buys back George's barely used Polaroid, excited to use it. That night, Phyllis tells Alan about what happened when she ran into Karen. At the same time, Katie returns home to find Benny waiting with her mother. Katie has to finally put her foot down and tell Benny that they can't date, which leaves him crestfallen.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel, Nicholas, and Ronnie play war games, pretending to be Tommy Mueller. Harriet sees their antics and proudly discusses Tommy and the harsh realities of war with them. She encourages them to never play war again. Later, Benny comes to get his spare key from Sophie and soon they are discussing Katie. Benny is upset at how easy life seems to be for Alan, comparing it to his own uphill struggles.

The next day, Warren tells Alan that he is too soft on Benny. Then, Alan runs into Karen and is forced to explain the "switch" to her. He also tells her how Benny has always been attracted to her. Finally, Alan speaks with Benny at Sid's, and they both apologize. Benny reveals that, though he still loves Katie, she is in love with Alan. Alan convinces Benny that he only needs to talk to girls and expose his personality to make them like him. Karen then comes into Sid's and agrees to let Benny walk her to school.
