CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM: THE CAR POOL LANE (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series in which producer/comedian Larry David plays a slightly exaggerated version of himself who often ends up embroiled in misunderstandings and social faux pas. In this episode, Larry and Jeff desperately want to attend a sold-out game at Dodger Stadium, leading them to question the ethics of asking a grieving friend for his tickets. When that scheme doesn't work out, fate intervenes as Cheryl scores a couple of seats for them. In the meantime, Larry convinces his father to use marijuana to ease the pain of his glaucoma. Not surprisingly, the means by which the marijuana is obtained -- coupled with a saucy prostitute, an attempt to avoid jury duty, and a lesson in ebonics -- ensures that nothing about Larry's date at Dodger Stadium goes according to plan.
(This episode later garnered attention when Juan Catalan, a man accused of murder, used background footage from the episode to prove that he was in fact at Dodger Stadium at the time of the crime.)
