STEPHEN KING'S KINGDOM HOSPITAL: SHOULDA STOOD IN BED {EPISODE 12} (TV)
Summary
The twelfth in this thirteen-part miniseries, developed by Stephen King and based on Lars von Trier's "The Kingdom," about ghostly happenings experienced by staff and visitors at a hospital in Lewiston, Maine. This episode begins with Abel and Christa wondering when the big earthquake will arrive that could destroy the hospital. Richard monitors the current activity via his system of tuning forks, thinking the earthquake will have arrived by midnight. Meanwhile, Liz continues taking care of Sol, who says he's going to change his name to Paul. Under the hospital, Dr. Hook gives Elmer the key to get back Frank's severed head from the fridge and make amends. Later, Frank's headless body makes it to the New Kingdom. After Blondi tips him off as to where his head is stored, Frank reattaches it to his torso. At the same time, Natalie insists to Louis that something is inside Peter that is trying to get out. Peter sketches a seance, making Sally realize that one needs to occur. Sally hears the voices of the children that died in the fire and of the patients that were killed by malpractice. Sally then runs into Mary, wondering what she wants. Sally has a dream that Egas was the one that harmed Mary. Sally visits Bobby to reveal that she will hold a seance that evening. Meanwhile, Brenda sneaks away to the airport to meet Dr. Stegman for their flight to Salem. Dr. Hook begins to publicly shame Dr. Stegman by hanging Mona's anesthesiology report throughout Kingdom. Later, Dr. Hook asks Peter what he wants him to do.
Then, Mary and Antubis come to lead Peter and Sally to the Old Kingdom. Dr. Stegman calls Brenda, furious at her for not ensuring that Mona's report wasn't copied. Dr. Stegman insults her and refuses to accompany her to Salem. Then, Jesse calls fellow Keeper Dr. Stegman to his office. As Mary leads Peter and Sally through the hospital, Antubis changes form. They comes face to face with Egas and Paul, both of whom try to destroy them before Antubis does "a solid." Sally realizes that she has to eliminate the black voices and put Mary to rest. They also see a vision of Dr. Stegman going mad, pulling a gun, and killing Bobby, among others. Meanwhile, Dr. Stegman is called by Myron, who wonders about Mona's report before temporarily revoking his medical privileges. Then, Dr. Stegman meets with Jesse, who reveals to him that charges of plagiarism have been brought against him by Dr. Hook and Christine. Meanwhile, a vengeful Brenda retrieves Dr. Stegman's gun from his desk and starts shooting his precious lab rats. By now Kingdom has begun to rock and Richard asks for everyone to vacate the premises. Meanwhile, Dr. Hook and Christine approach Elmer and ask that he go into his dream state and use his powers to hopefully help stop the oncoming earthquake. Lona is surprised to stumble upon Peter, Sally, et al in her dream lab. Sally begins her seance after Abel and Christa join the group. Finally, Dr. Stegman returns to his vandalized car and finds a ghostly visitor. Paul subsequently tells him who has been defacing the vehicle and that he needs "to end this once and for all."
