LIFE AFTER EXTREME MAKEOVER (TV)
Summary
A special in this reality television series in which a person is made over by a team of cosmetic specialists. In this special, several "favorite" makeover recipients from the series are revisited. First, host Sam Saboura, the Extreme Team style guy, opens the show with some introductory comments before the story of twenty-nine- year-old wife and mother-of-two Candace is revisited. Graphics catalogue all the cosmetic procedures Candace underwent via Dr. Garth Fisher before her new look is unveiled. Then, Candace speaks with Saboura, touching on how her life has changed since her makeover and criticisms people have made about her leaving her young baby to appear on the show. Then, footage shows what Candace is up to nowadays. Next, the show profiles veteran police detective Peggy, revisiting her story. Graphics catalogue all the cosmetic procedures the forty-eight-year-old Peggy underwent via Dr. Jon Perlman before her new look is unveiled. Then, Peggy speaks with Saboura, touching on why she chose not to get breasts implants. The show travels to Colorado to see what Peggy has been up to in the four months since her makeover. Peggy speaks further about now being approached by young men. Next, the show looks at fifty-six-year-old John, who was often mistaken for his children's grandfather. Graphics catalogue all the cosmetic procedures John underwent via doctors Malcolm Lesavoy and William Dorfman before his new look is unveiled. Then, John speaks with Saboura, touching on the reaction he received from neighbors upon his return home. The show travels to Kansas to see how John's life has changed since his makeover, as he has gotten a new career and become closer with his daughter. John further discusses with Saboura the "do-over" he underwent and whether he would consider future maintenance. Next, the show looks at identical twins, Caroline and Cat, who grew apart in their looks when Caroline developed problems with her teeth and nose. Graphics catalogue all the cosmetic procedures Caroline underwent via Dorfman to make her once again appear similar to Cat. Caroline and Cat speak with Saboura, touching on Caroline previously being described as the "ugly" twin. The show goes to Nevada to look at how the twins' lives have changed since Caroline's procedures. Also, Cat fell in love with Peter, another "Extreme Makeover" recipient. Then, Peter speaks with Saboura, detailing how he hooked up with Cat. Next, the show looks at Kine, long embarrassed by her large lips. Graphics catalogue all the cosmetic procedures Kine underwent via Dorfman and Fisher, most notably repairing her lips. The "new" Kine speaks with Saboura, touching on whether she was aware that lips could be cosmetically reduced. The show looks at how Kine is now pursuing an acting career in Hollywood. Kine talks about going on auditions since her makeover, before showing Saboura how she now kisses. Next, all the revisited makeover recipients discuss their experiences, answering questions such as whether an individual has to "look good" to be happy. Then, footage highlights all the doctors and cosmetics specialists on the Extreme Team. The makeover recipients discuss how "weird" it was to watch their own episodes. Then, doctors Robert Maloney, Fisher, Dorfman, and Perlman show up for a "follow-up consultation" where the makeover recipients thank them. The doctors all discuss what the show has done for plastic surgery and how long recovery periods last. Finally, Saboura pulls a lucky person from the audience who will soon undergo an "Extreme Makeover." Includes commercials.
