LA ACADEMIA: SEGUNDA (2DA.) GENERACION {THE ACADEMY: SECOND GENERATION} {CONCERT #16} {TAPE 2 OF 3} {SPANISH} (TV)

Summary

Continued from T:79346. Tape two of three. One is this reality series in which young and talented, but unknown, singers are chosen from a national pool of contestants to become live-in "students" at "The Academy," where they will perfect their skills and possibly get a recording deal and a performing career. The contestants practice vocals and choreography for the televised concerts, hosted by Alan Tacher, where a panel of music industry judges gives advice on what skills to work on. In addition, as the competition heats up, audiences from Mexico and the U.S. get to vote out one contestant at a time. This installment, the eighth concert from the second generation of Academy hopefuls, pits a field of eleven against one another. The concert continues with the fifth contestant, Manuel Mancillas Dena, singing his song, "Bella sin alma" (Beauty without a soul) by Ricardo Cocciante. Before his performance, Tacher speaks with Manuel about his family and how his wife works to support them while he is working on winning the first prize of "La Academia." After his performance (as with all contestants), the critics and teachers HermŽ Pompei, JosŽ Luis Cormejo, and Ram—n Delgado comment on his performance and improvements. Rosal’a Le—n sings after Manuel, and she is asked to respond to Fredi's proposal. She does and sings her song, dedicated to him, "Te amo" (I love you) by Pablo MilanŽs. The next contestant is Adri‡n Carvajal Puentes, singing "Quiz‡s" (Perhaps) by Enrique Iglesias and Lester MŽndez, followed by Andrea Gonz‡lez Romo singing "Chica Ye, Ye" (The girl Ye, Ye). After her, Marco Antonio Moreno Garc’a sings "PiŽnsame s—lo" (Think of me alone). The tenth contestant to sing is Fabrizio Mart’nez Pargas, singing "El Rey" (The King) by JosŽ Alfredo JimŽnez; the eleventh and last contestant of the evening is Erika Alcocer Luna, who sings "La puerta de Alcal‡" (The gate of Alcal‡). Before singing they have a surprise for her: her husband makes a proposal to get married in the church, which they hadn't been able to do until then. Tacher continues asking viewers to call and vote for their favorite contestant in the last minutes of the concert. Includes brief sponsorship statements from Sedal shampoo. Continues with T:79340.
