FRIENDS: THE ONE WITH THE CANDY HEARTS (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about six Generation-X friends who live together in New York City and share a favorite haunt, a coffee bar called Central Perk. In this episode, Ross scores a Valentine's Day date with his hot neighbor. Meanwhile Joey sets up a blind date for Chandler, and the girls scramble for any sort of plans. At the double date, Chandler is stunned to see that his "date" is actually the hated Janice. That night, the girls sit around making dinner and drinking beer, before Phoebe suggests they all break the "bad boyfriend cycle" via a cleansing ritual the next evening. Eventually Joey and his date cut out, and Joey and Janice -- left alone with Joey's credit card -- get drunk and sleep together. On Ross's date, his nerdiness shines through, before he coincidentally find himself seated with his ex-wife Carol and her lesbian lover at a Japanese restaurant. For the cleansing ritual, the girls hold a "boyfriend bonfire" -- burning the memories of past loves -- which ends in disaster. Finally, Chandler is forced to examine why he keeps ending up with Janice while Ross must try to figure out how to "get on" with his life. Commercials deleted.
