DREAM ON: THOSE WHO CAN'T, EDIT (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a publishing company employee named Martin Tupper whose thoughts become animated through black-and-white clips of old television shows. In this episode, Martin is having an affair with his assistant editor, Kay. During an intimate moment, Kay notices a manuscript and is blown away by the writer's talent. Martin realizes that the steamy novel was written by Jeremy -- and that Jeremy was scared to show his overly critical father. Later, at Martin's office, Martin asks Kay to become Jeremy's editor. Soon, Gibby has decided that he wants to publish Jeremy's novel. Quickly, Jeremy decides that he doesn't like Martin working on his novel and wishes to be edited only by Kay. However, a hurt Martin is unable to keep his nose out of things. On his own, he edits Jeremy's entire novel and hands it in to Gibby. Gibby hates the rewrite, and thinking Kay was the one who edited it, fires her. When a guilt-ridden Martin goes to Jeremy to apologize for the book being scuttled, Jeremy seems cavalier, then lets Martin in on a few key developments.
