AMERICAN FAMILY: LA LLORONA {THE WEEPING WOMAN} {PT. 1 OF 2} (TV)

Summary

The first of two parts on this tape. One in this drama series about a Latino family living in Los Angeles. In this episode, Cisco tells Pablito the old folk tale "La Llorona" (The Weeping Woman.) Jess has Cisco help him make an internet infomercial for his barber shop. To the family's dismay, Pablito's mother Laura begins showing up regularly outside the house and at Pablito's school. Flashbacks reveal details of the time Esteban was in prison and Laura was caring for infant Pablito. An immigrant named Elena asks Nina for help with her family's immigration proceedings. Elena explains that both she and her husband are illegal immigrants but that their baby was born in the U.S. After Elena's husband is caught by immigration officials and deported to Mexico, Elena looks for him at the immigration building. There, she too is apprehended, and her baby is taken away. This episode is followed by a short documentary from the "Realidades" series: "Dia De Los Muertos" highlights the rituals and meaning behind the Mexican holiday "The Day of the Dead." Includes a promo.
