ONCE AND AGAIN: CHANCE OF A LIFETIME {SERIES FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The series finale of this dramatic series about Rick Sammler and Lily Manning, two middle-aged parents who deal with the realities of divorce while they cope with raising their children and dating. In this episode, Rick and Sam are awarded a lucrative job designing hotels in Australia. Meanwhile, it becomes apparent that Karen and her physical therapist Henry share a mutual attraction, and Jake unexpectedly proposes to Tiffany. When Lily and Rick meet for dinner, they exchange good news: Lily announces that her radio program is up for nation-wide broadcast and Rick tells Lily about the Australia job. Lily expresses concern over Rick's assumption that she will drop her radio show and follow him to Australia. Her disquiet deepens when Rick tells the kids about the Australia job, and Judy expresses her excitement about moving to Australia with Sam. Rick is upset when he learns that Lily is working on promotions for her show's expansion, an expansion that would only take place if she didn't move abroad with him. The tension between the couple mounts when Rick's client tells Lily that Rick is going to Australia to house-hunt for them. Things also look uncertain for Karen, who insists that she can't have a relationship with Henry despite their obvious feelings for each other, and for Tiffany, who before her wedding tells Lily that she can't trust Jake. Lily persuades Tiffany to proceed with the wedding. While her kids attend Tiffany and Jake's wedding, Karen visits Henry to let him know that she will take a chance and have a relationship with him. After the wedding ceremony, Lily reveals a surprise to Rick that helps the couple resolve their conflict. At the end of the program, the cast talks about what the series and their fellow cast members have meant to them. Includes commercials, promos, and a public service announcement.
