ONCE AND AGAIN: THE GAY-STRAIGHT ALLIANCE (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic series about Rick Sammler and Lily Manning, two middle-aged parents who deal with the realities of divorce while they cope with raising their children and dating. In this episode, Grace joins the Gay-Straight Alliance at school, which is advised by her English teacher Mr. Dimitri. Grace's involvement in the group has Lily struggling with the notion that Grace might be a lesbian. Meanwhile, Grace mentions to Jessie that Jessie's friend Katie is gay. Jessie vehemently denies it -- but the notion leaves her uncomfortable and she begins avoiding Katie altogether. At Grace's suggestion, Mr. Dimitri has a meeting for the Gay-Straight Alliance at his house, and Grace shows increasing interest in her teacher's personal life. Desperate to find out why Jessie has been acting strange, Katie writes Jessie a letter detailing how important their friendship is to her. Katie visits Jessie at home, and the two girls are forced to deal with the content of the letter. Includes commercials, promos, and a public service announcement. This program is closed-captioned.
