CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM: TRICK OR TREAT (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series in which producer/comedian Larry David plays a slightly exaggerated version of himself who often ends up embroiled in misunderstandings and social faux pas. In this Halloween episode, Larry and his wife Cheryl go out to dinner with screenwriter Cliff Cobb and his wife Shelley. Cliff is offended when Larry orders a Cobb Salad with no bacon or eggs; he explains that his grandfather invented the salad. The two couples arrive at the screening of Cliff's new film, and Larry immediately offends another viewer. Later at home, Cheryl complains about Larry's behavior during the evening. The next day, Shelley asks Larry on a date, having wrongly assumed that he was coming on to her at the movie screening. When he explains that she misunderstood him, she is offended and refuses to give Larry a bracelet he commissioned her to make for Cheryl's upcoming birthday. That night, two teenage girls come trick-or-treating at Larry and Cheryl's home. Because the girls are not wearing costumes Larry refuses to give them candy, and they retaliate by vandalizing the house. At the office, Larry's manager offers a suggestion for Larry's new show, and they make plans to play golf -- on Cheryl's birthday. Later, when Larry stops by to claim the bracelet Shelley made, Cliff confronts him about what Cliff sees as Larry's coming onto his wife. Driving home, Larry sees one of the girls who vandalized his house. He pulls over to confront her and is shocked to discover who her father is.
