TWILIGHT ZONE, THE: IT'S A GOOD LIFE (TV)
Summary
One in this science fiction/fantasy anthology series hosted by Rod Serling. In this episode, Serling takes viewers to Peaksville, Ohio, a small town that may be the last place on Earth. For a few years now this town has been hurled back into the "dark ages" by a monster with incredible powers. Ironically, the monster is a six-year-old boy, Anthony Freemont. Anthony is capable of reading other people's thoughts and then wreaking havoc on them or the world with his own mind. He hates singing, and he hates unhappy thoughts. If a person or animal upsets Anthony, he kills the cause of his distress; thus, everyone still alive, including Anthony's parents, must always think happy thoughts. One night, a birthday party is thrown for Dan Hollis. His wife gives him a very rare Perry Como record as a gift. Dan, however, is unable to play the record because it will upset Anthony. Instead everyone must listen to piano music. During this time, Dan begins drinking. Inebriated and furious that he can't listen to his new record, Dan finally lashes out -- with disastrous results.
