SOPRANOS, THE: KNIGHT IN WHITE SATIN ARMOR (TV)
Summary
One in the darkly comic, dramatic series centering around the crime empire and family life of Tony Soprano, a modern-day Mafia boss. The episode opens as Tony and Janice move furniture into the new house Janice will share with Richie Aprile. Jackie Aprile, Jr., and his friends watch television in the living room. Tony comments that Jackie, Sr., were he still alive today, would be very disappointed to see that Jackie, Jr., has dropped out of medical school. That afternoon, Tony breaks off the affair with his Russian mistress Irina, despite her protests. Tony and his crew meet up with Richie and Jackie, Jr., to discuss "business." Tony is angry that Richie's garbage men are dealing "blow" on their routes and leaves the meeting in a huff. Meanwhile, Big Pussy meets with Agent Skip Lipari to discuss further surveillance measures in which Pussy may partake. At an engagement party later, Richie and Janice profess their passionate love for each other. Privately to Carmela, though, Janice admits that Richie often holds a gun to her head while they have sex. Carmela is outraged. She later breaks down crying at the party when she discovers a shirt with the smell of Tony's Russian mistress on it. Later in the night, Tony receives an urgent phone call; he rushes to the hospital when he learns that Irina has tried to commit suicide. At a session with Dr. Melfi, Tony asks the analyst to recommend a psychiatrist for Irina. Later, while performing an unauthorized surveillance, Pussy loses control of his car and crashes into a cyclist, putting the cyclist into a coma and attracting Lipari's ire. That night, Richie slaps Janice during an argument, sparking an even more violent response.
